Comedian and author David Walliams dropped by longtime publisher.

Acclaimed writer for children and comedian David Walliams is no longer with his publisher HarperCollins UK, the company has said.

A spokesman for the firm stated: "Upon deliberation, and with the guidance of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing future works by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the conclusion was taken subsequent to an inquiry regarding claims about questionable actions involving young women.

The company did not confirm the motivations for this action, noting: "We do not comment on private personnel issues."

A Highly Successful Writing Journey

Walliams ranks among Britain's most prolific writers for young readers, having sold more than 60 million copies globally in dozens of tongues.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins back in 2008.

A number of his titles, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into TV movies.

To date, he has released in excess of 40 works altogether, encompassing a Christmas book titled *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins this past October.

Television and Literature

He first rose to fame on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE several years ago for his services to charity and the arts.

The publisher's decision comes after the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss in October.
