FC Barcelona Set to Play First Fixture at Upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend
The club confirmed they will play at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou on Saturday. They will welcome the Bilbao team in domestic competition over two years after they moved out so building work could begin.
“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Attendance will be limited though over 45,000 attendees can be present as per the current authorization. When completed, it will accommodate over 104,000 attendees, up from the previous 99,000. The club said completed upgrades featured a renovated tunnel for players plus modern locker rooms.
Preparatory Events
Barcelona held a fan-accessible workout on the home pitch on 7 November. Officials stated they were hoping for permission from Uefa to host the next European match versus the German side next month in the renovated venue. They have been hosting matches at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
