The prosecutor stated further: "In the summer" his stepson had suspicions about what was going on, with valid cause.

"They decided to investigate in the individual's items."

The prosecutor explained items including lubricant, ointment and medical needles were discovered, and his family member notified the law enforcement about his suspicions.

She stated Ruben proceeded to conduct the "sweet game" with six youngsters that evening - Saturday 26 July - and they were all ill the following morning.

"Authorities" had not arrived by that point," she stated further.

The police watchdog, the Independent Office for Police Conduct, had stated that it was examining law enforcement's management of the events.

The legal representative explained the youngsters were struggling to walk due to their sickness, so the family member called the police a second time.
