The relatives of young people lost after a devastating inferno at a venue in a Swiss winter destination are enduring an excruciating wait for confirmed information and pleading for any details about their family members via social media.

The blaze devastated the Le Constellation bar in the alpine resort, located in the mountains of the Valais region, in the early hours of New Year's Day. Verified video depict the ceiling being engulfed in flames as beverages with sparklers are held aloft.

Emergency services have stated that it could take considerable time to formally name the fatalities of the disaster, which resulted in the death of four dozen individuals and hurt another over a hundred. Officials stated on the latest update that the majority of the those hurt have been accounted for, with work continuing to locate the remaining few.
