The star has donated the entirety of his twenty-five thousand pound honor winnings to the Music Venues Trust, which operates to save the Britain's independent concert spaces.

Fender was given the award on October 16 as his latest record his work was declared the outstanding release of the past year.

He has chosen to donate the funds to the trust, in appreciation of the essential function local spots played in his early career.

"I personally would not have achieved my current career if it weren't for all the performances I performed around the area, and beyond, when I was just getting going," said Fender. "These venues are iconic, but they are facing challenges."

Beginning in 2023, more than 150 of these spaces have permanently closed – approximately one-sixth of the whole industry in the UK.

In the last year, top acts like Pulp, Coldplay, Katy Perry and Sheeran have all backed the Music Venues Trust in its attempts to support the industry, by including a modest fee to their ticket costs, which benefits smaller concert halls.

Sam Fender also took part, collecting over £100k on his 2024 arena tour to support numerous small stages across England, Scotland, and Wales.

The donation assisted spaces that were dealing with imminent closure due to challenges caused by floods, fire incidents and bereavements, as well as licensing issues, conflicts and sound issues.

Some locations received funding support in improving amenities and technical equipment that helped artists and concertgoers.

"The idea that money from performances in large arenas helps the local stages, where it kicks off for performers like me, is just common sense," Sam Fender has stated.

Fender is among several artists to give his award winnings to worthy causes.

In 2002, musician she divided her award between a few organizations, including the NSPCC and a Sickle Cell organization.

"And I gave a £1,000 to the center, to their classes, because I practiced gymnastics when I was growing up and they needed updated gear," Ms Dynamite explained to the media.

Previously, they contributed their prize money to the local youth club that supported their group, as well as other local music groups.

Additionally the 1994 recipients M People contributed their winnings to a multiple sclerosis charity after a close contact was found to have the disease.

"Winning was quite enough," stated vocalist the singer. "The prize was the cherry on top but we could do without the extra, because we had the honor. So our victory affected somebody else's life."

Recently, the trust shared it had rescued two local spots in the South East, by bringing them into public stewardship.

The first in that area and The Croft in the city were acquired under the community ownership initiative, which is backed by a national body and supporters who purchase "ownership units" in the venues.
