Ever since the premiere of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with deep backstory, a diverse cast of heroes, and a thrilling plot featuring celestial beings, evil spirits, and dark forces growing in influence within the city.
Heads-up: Revealing details for Episode 3 of this adventure are included.
The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed
The latest chapter ended with a dramatic pause and introduced the premier party of adventurers who will split off from the main group to embark on their separate journey, distinct from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table consists of Teor (played by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (Laura), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), the cleric (the player), and Kattigan Vale (the actor).
The Reason for Division
Given a large ensemble, it was obvious from the outset that keeping everyone at a single group would be impossible.
Hence, the initial installments of this story serve as an Introduction, intertwining the individual narratives before branching into three distinct groups: Fighters, Strategists, and Explorers.
The Nature of the Soldiers Table
As described by the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for players who enjoy a classically intense fight-heavy narrative style where peaceful solutions are rare.
Upon first impression, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might look mismatched, but the actions of the third episode make it clear why these five characters are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.
Motivations for Departure
To begin with, the team understands precisely where to head next after a violent first encounter with the enemy group.
A former ally of the deceased character—whose demise initiated the campaign’s events—exploited the enemy for his selfish purposes, invading Thjazi’s hideout, assaulting the rogue, and taking all the magical artifacts to dispose of.
Casimir then cleared his obligations and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, north of the urban center, with Teor’s brother close behind.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each member has a specific drive to exit Dol-Makjar:
- Thimble, as the close ally and trusted friend, seeks vengeance.
- Kattigan knows the northern area and cautions that it is a dangerous location.
- The strong character and Wicander, having defied his house’s orders to execute the fighter and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
- But, their position as important members in the influential clan could enable the party enter areas they normally couldn’t.
- Furthermore, Teor swore a eternal obligation to Wicander for his salvation and will now accompany him everywhere.
Fugitives
Lastly, all of them are wanted by the rulers that govern the setting for a multiple motives, making remaining behind too risky:
- The agile adventurer and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
- The warrior and The healer turned against House Halovar and the army of fiends they are allied with.
- The target is targeted for elimination by the clan.
This means them no alternative but to head to the remote area in search of the traitor.
Future Episodes
From the recent installment’s Cooldown, we learn that the warrior group won’t be around the following episode, leaving the remaining eight players to assemble the Seekers and Planners groups.
Viewers can expect discovering which adventurers will be assigned to which table in the season’s concluding setup installment, released on next week.
